Brian MacMillan
Attended Bell High School from 1962 to 1966 for grades 10 to 13. He worked in the Ski Industry with John Clifford at Camp Fortune for 9 years. For the following 28 years he owned and operated a woodworking business building custom furniture. He retired in 2003 to join the "seniors golf community" and thriving extremely well--thank-you!! Brian is serving as a Reunion Steering Committee Chair.

Paula (Chill) Munro
Attended Bell High School from 1962 to 1965 for grades 11 to 13. After receiving an Honours degree from Carleton University and a teaching certificate from OCE in Toronto, she taught high school for 10 years. She subsequently owned and operated a retail business in Ottawa for the next 10 years. Her final career was in banking, primarily as a mortgage specialist for an area credit union & then for Scotiabank. After 16 years in banking, she retired from full time work in 2006 but has continued to work part time for Scotiabank. Paula is serving as the Reunion Steering Committee Treasurer.

Myfanwy Davies
Attended Bell from 1971 to 1976. After graduating from Algonquin College, she embarked on a retail career, and spent 17 years in various posts with McIntosh & Watts. For 10 of those years she managed the St. Laurent store. Myfanwy retired from retail work in 1996 and increased her involvement with volunteer organizations, most of which are Welsh groups throughout North America. She has served on numerous committees and held positions such as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Trustee. Her biggest challenge was as Chairperson of the organizing committee for the successful North American Festival of Wales which was held in Buffalo, New York in 2004. Myfanwy lives in Ottawa and currently works for her husband's computer security consulting business, and likes to travel, sing, garden and socialize. Myfanwy is serving as Reunion Steering Committee Secretary.

Mary (Manning) Jackson
Attended Bell High from 1962 to 1965 for grades 11 to 13. After graduating with a BA (French & Spanish) from Carleton University and a teaching certificate from OCE at University of Toronto, she taught high school French for 7 years. After several years at home with 3 wonderful children, she went back into teaching but at elementary school level. She taught Early French Immersion full-time, and then Core French half-time when her husband retired from Agriculture Canada. Mary is serving as the Reunion Steering Committee Decades Rooms Coordinator, with specific responsibility for the 60’s Room.

Rose (Timmerman) Gitzi
Attended Bell from 1981-1985. Proud wife and mother of one, Rose has found a great work life balance in doing what she loves. After graduating from Carleton University with a BA Psychology, Rose moved into the corporate world and worked on strategic program initiatives focused on employee satisfaction, loyalty and retention before opening her own company in 2004. Rose is owner and principle event producer of RTG Special Events – one stop event management and Production Company to help you create memorable conferences and events. Rose spends much of her time focusing on delivering spectacular events for clients across North America. Rose is serving on the Reunion Steering Committee as Sponsorship coordinator and logistics for Faculty Wine and Cheese.

Lorne Beaton
Attended Bell from 1962 to 1967 for grades 9 to 13. He worked as a Biochemical Technologist for 27 years with Agriculture Canada then a Biosafety Officer with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for 5 years. He retired in 2003 and does volunteer work at a nursing home and at the Diefenbunker in Carp. Lorne is serving as a Reunion Steering Committee Member-at-Large and is manager of our In Memoriam web page.

John Belisle
Attended Bell from '73 to '78. He worked on the Nepean Police force in his first career then worked at the Royal Canadian Mint. He's a Dad to two wonderful grown up daughters who work to save the worlds' wildlife and are rarely in Canada. John now owns a local Ottawa landscaping company called TerraBlue Landscaping Inc. specializing in synthetic lawns and residential putting greens. He's a performing Blues musician playing now & then in local pubs. John is serving as a Reunion Steering Committee Member-at-Large and is managing the Saturday Open Mic event.

Bill Irwin
Attended BHS during its first four years of operations. After graduation in 1966, he went on to the University of Waterloo for a B. Math degree. He began his career in 1970 at Welch LLP, Chartered Accountants and has been a partner since 1977. Since retiring recently, Bill volunteered to assist the treasurer and help the reunion committee with the accounting function. Bill is married to Pat and together they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren all living in the Ottawa area.

Willi Lotz
Attended Bell High from its opening year of 1962 to 1965 for grades 10 to 12. He is still working in the high tech sector, telecom division, in the Kanata area involved in defining the physical and mechanical design of company product lines. Willi is serving as a Reunion Steering Committee Member-at-Large and is managing the Event Publicity.

Mike Shacklock
Attended Bell High School from 1962 to 1964 for grades 11 and 12. He graduated from BCIT in 1967 and spent 21 years in the Canadian Forces followed by 11 years with Nova Scotia Power Incorporated and then 6 years self employed. He retired in 2005 and is loving it! Mike is serving as the Reunion Steering Committee Website Administrator.

Bruce Smithson
Graduating from South Carleton High School in 1958, Bruce went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts at Carleton and a Masters of Science in Geography at Western before returning to S.C.H.S. and beginning his teaching career in 1965. Bruce was seconded to DND in 1969 for three years period in Germany teaching the children of Canadian soldiers stationed there as part of NATO. While there, he met and married Kathleen Beatty (Kate). They recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. Shortly after returning to Canada they took a year off and traveled overland to India and back in a VW camper. Returning to Canada again, daughter Lauren arrived, (now Dr. Smithson currently in residency in general surgery) and then Jeffrey followed (now working in Toronto with RBC). In 1978 Bruce became Administrative Head at Sir Robert Borden, and following a self-funded leave-year in 1986/87, became Vice-Principal at Merivale High School and then moved to Bell in 1990. He finished up his “Carleton Board years” retiring in 1996. This was short lived as he and Kate went to Abu Dhabi in the UAE for a 2 to 3 year experience but ended up staying for 7!! Bruce was the Principal of the International School while Kate was the guidance counsellor/college placement coordinator. They then spent 3 years in Basel, Switzerland before returning to Canada in 2009 and ‘permanent’ retirement. A wonderful life! Bruce is serving as liaison with Bell High.
